Cancer Strikes Terror in the Family, Please Save Little Kaveri

When I found out that she had cancer, I couldn't accept the reality. I wasn’t able to eat while thinking about her. My husband is madly in love with the child; she is our only child. Kaveri, a child of one and a half years, has been living a nightmarish existence ever since she was nine months old. It started as a fever, which turned into weekly vomiting and a low appetite. After taking her to many hospitals, it was finally confirmed that she had Blastic Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cell Neoplasm. A rare cancer which affects fewer than 1,000 people every year.

Initially, chemotherapy couldn’t be done as her protein levels were down and her nerves were weak. After a few sessions of chemotherapy, Kaveri couldn’t sit or stand and lost her hair. Now she needs chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant from Mazumdar Shaw Medical Centre, Bengaluru, Karnataka (26 km from Bangalore City Railway Station), which would cost Rs.22,00,000(Rupees Twenty-Two Lakh Only).
