Atmanirbhar Palghar: CHF & ISKCON’s Collaborative Mission to End Malnutrition in Palghar

In India's tribal belts, there's a chance to improve children's nutrition. Child Help Foundation (CHF) is committed to the cause of ensuring nutrition. The organisation has created a collaborative initiative with the ISKCON.

India is one of the largest countries in the world affected by malnutrition. Statistics by Worldometer reveal that 194.4 Million people, or 14.37% population don't receive adequate nutrition. In the 2023 Global Hunger Index, India ranked 111th out of the 125 countries with sufficient data to calculate 2023 GHI scores, making it clear that hunger is a rising problem.

In partnership with Palghar District Health authorities in Maharashtra and ISKCON, CHF has initiated efforts in 30 villages, aiming to expand further and reach more communities. The approach involves providing nutritious ladoos and barfis, conducting health check-ups, educating parents about the importance of a balanced diet, and recruiting and training Swasthya Rakshak Dampatis as project coordinators, health workers, and nutritionists to carry out these activities.

To tackle nutritional deficiencies, the program provides diverse types of desserts to children. These include green and black gram beans, peanuts dates, wheat foxtail millet and Navratna barfis, each made with a blend of nutritious ingredients like grains, nuts, and jaggery to

boost the essential nutrients, and helping them meet the requirements of Minimum Diversified Diet (MDD).

Join hands with CHF on this transformative journey. Your involvement, whether through donations holds power to nurture healthier, more self-reliant children in Palghar.
