One-year-old Zira Mariya from Thrissur, Kerala, began experiencing unusual symptoms, including difficulty breathing. Concerned, her parents rushed her to the hospital. After several tests, their worst fears came true: Zira was diagnosed with B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
Zira has been admitted to the hospital to begin the next chemotherapy protocol. The third chemo protocol is now starting, which includes 4 chemotherapy sessions at intervals of two weeks, and the treatment is expected to continue for approximately 2 months.
Zira Maria is currently at home, she will visit hospital on 11th May for her next chemo admission.

Zira was discharged yesterday 13th April. The next review is scheduled for the 16th, and a blood test will be done on that day. The doctor will decide the next course of treatment based on the test results.

Zira Mariya, Rajagiri hospital, This is second induction protocol. It is given weekly x total 8 weeks. One medicine is given as block on 4 consecutive days in week 1 and week 2 and week 5, week 6. Now she is currently undergoing the 6th week of chemo.
Zira’s fever has subsided. She has been advised to get admitted on the 26th for the insertion of a chemo port, following which chemotherapy will be initiated.
