Four-year-old Saiketh Abeesh from Ernakulam, Kerala, was once a cheerful and active child. It all began with a simple cold. His parents thought it was nothing serious and gave him regular medicines, but his tiredness kept increasing. A few days later, his condition worsened, and he was admitted to a nearby hospital. Sadly, a medical error during his treatment made his health deteriorate further, leaving his little body paralysed.“It’s been four long months since my son was admitted. Watching him lie motionless, surrounded by machines and tubes, is unbearable. But I still believe he will recover; he just needs your help to continue his treatment.”
Saiketh is being discharged today. A total of 23 cycles of plasma exchange therapy have been completed so far. The doctor has advised to rest at home for two weeks and continue physiotherapyand medication. After two weeks, he will be admitted for another 10 cycles of plasma exchange therapy.
