“Our little girl was only suffering from what we thought was a viral fever, and we never imagined it would become so serious. Seeing her struggle to breathe is heartbreaking for us. A few months ago, Rigveda Rahul, a one-year-old girl from Erumeli South Kottayam, Keralam, developed what appeared to be a viral fever. Her parents hoped she would soon recover, but her condition gradually became more serious when she began experiencing severe breathing difficulties. Concerned by her worsening health, they rushed her for medical tests, which revealed that the infection had progressed into severe Mycoplasma pneumonia, complicated by acute respiratory distress syndrome and respiratory failure.
Rigveda has been switched from ECMO and is currently on tracheostomy ventilator support. She is expected to require at least two weeks of ICU care, after which she may be shifted to a hospital room with tracheostomy support, depending on her condition. The total hospital stay is expected to be at least three weeks. The baby’s health is improving significantly

The baby is also receiving antibiotics and antiviral medications. CT scans and blood tests are being conducted regularly to monitor the baby’s condition and progress.
