The family first suspected something was wrong when Nandika was just two months old and developed what looked like a skin infection, one that took a long time to heal. What followed were countless hospital visits and sleepless nights, as her parents watched their tiny daughter struggle against an illness they had never even heard of before. For Govinda and Deepthi, every day since has been about holding on to hope for their little girl.

Doctors at KIMS Hospitals, Seethammadhara, Visakhapatnam (about 3 km from Visakhapatnam Railway Station), have advised a Bone Marrow Transplant as the only way to give Nandika a chance at a healthy life. The estimated cost of this treatment is Rs. 25,00,000 (Rupees Twenty-Five Lakh Only).

Govinda works as a daily-wage labourer, earning just enough to get by each day, while also caring for his elderly father, who lives with them. Deepthi manages the household and looks after Nandika's constant needs. With no savings to fall back on, the family hopes that with timely help, their daughter will get the chance to grow up healthy, happy, and free from fear.
