“We were overwhelmed with the birth of Mariyam and spent the entirety of the next few months doting on her. But dread came knocking on our doors just months after her birth. I have put on a strong face for the sake of my family, but sometimes I feel like shattering this facade of strength and breaking down to tears.”-

Dread entered Mariyam’s life when she was just three months old when she faced some bowel issues. This was later confirmed to be Liver Cirrhosis. Today, she continues to face the same issue, along with itching.

According to the doctors at Mumbai’s Nanavati Max Multispeciality, Mariyam has no option except to undergo a liver transplant. The cost of the treatment is coming at Rs 16,50,000/- (Rupees Sixteen Lakhs Fifty Thousand Only).

Mariyam’s father, aktar, works at a furniture shop and is the sole breadwinner in the family of five. He has resorted to borrowing from friends and relatives to manage his daily expenses, as his income has not been sufficient.
