For his parents, Shivaji and Savita, watching their son go through this has been heartbreaking. Doctors at Kolhapur Cancer Centre, Kolhapur, Maharashtra (approximately 10 to 12 km from Kolhapur Railway Station), have recommended excision of multiple osteochondromas lesion. The estimated cost of this treatment is Rs. 3,50,000 (Rupees Three Lakh Fifty Thousand Only).

Shivaji works as a labourer, and with a family of five to support, including two children and his elderly mother, arranging such a large amount is proving very difficult. Laxman has also had to miss school because of his condition. The family continues to hope that with the right care and support, their son will walk, run and go back to school just like before.
