Since birth, Hansika, a six-year-old girl from Afzalpur, Karnataka, has lived with a condition affecting the development of her right leg. She was diagnosed with Congenital Posteromedial Bowing of the right tibia with residual shortening and intorsion, which has made movement and walking more challenging for her. While children her age are busy playing and exploring the world around them, Hansika has had to face physical difficulties from a very young age.

Doctors at Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Bengaluru, Karnataka (450m from Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station), have recommended right tibia derotation osteotomy and plating along with left contralateral epiphysiodesis of the proximal tibia This treatment is important to correct the alignment of her legs and support better movement as she grows. The estimated cost of treatment is Rs. 2,50,000 (Rupees Two Lakh Fifty Thousand Only).

Maruti works as an auto driver and is the sole support for a family of six. With a limited income, a rented home, and daily household expenses, the family finds it difficult to cover the cost of Hansika’s treatment.

Hansika’s journey reminds us that every child deserves the opportunity to move freely and experience childhood without limitations. With timely treatment and support, she can take confident steps towards a healthier future.
