"When Dhanunjay was born, I thought the hardest part was behind us. But when he developed jaundice, everything changed overnight. Now I spend every day praying that somehow we find a way to save him. We are just simple people with very little, but my son's life is worth everything we have."
Eight-month-old Battini Dhanunjay, son of Sravani and Paparao from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, is fighting for his life at an age when most babies are just beginning to discover the world around them. What started as jaundice led to the diagnosis of PFIC Type II, a rare liver condition where the body is unable to process bile normally, causing it to build up and slowly damage the liver. His only hope for survival now is a Liver Transplant.
Dhanunjay has undergone a successful Liver Transplant and is currently in the ICU, under Doctors observation.
