Barely two months old, baby girl of Sangeeta and Deepak Harijan from Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, is fighting for her life. Born preterm with a very low birth weight, she is now battling respiratory distress along with sepsis, conditions that have left her in a critical state right from the start of her tiny life.

The baby was born a twin, and while her sister was fortunate enough to be spared such struggles, this little one began fighting for every breath soon after birth. What was meant to be a time of joy for the family quickly turned into days of fear, as Sangeeta and Deepak watched helplessly, praying their daughter would somehow pull through.

She is currently admitted at Hissariya Children Hospital, Haryana (200 to 300 metres from Sirsa Railway Station), where doctors have advised a 30 day stay in the NICU to help her recover and grow stronger. The estimated cost of her treatment comes to Rs. 3,43,000 (Rupees Three Lakh Forty Three Thousand Only), an amount the family has no way of arranging on their own.

With a household of nine to support, including Deepak's two sisters, his brother, his parents, his wife, and their children, the family's limited income leaves little room to manage an expense this large. Even so, they have not lost faith, and they continue to hope that their little one will soon find the strength to breathe easy and come home.
