Nine-year-seven-month-old Arsalan has always been a quiet, fragile child. His parents, Mohsin and Reshma Shaikh, often wondered why his height and weight were not increasing like those of other children his age. When Balaji Heart Hospital & Diagnostic Centre of Mumbai, Maharashtra, conducted a medical camp in their hometown, Beed, they decided to get him checked. The tests revealed something they never expected—Arsalan was suffering from a complex heart disease; he had a hole in his heart. Doctors have recommended that it requires urgent surgical closure.
