“Are my children doomed to live a life of misery and poverty? We are told that education unlocks new avenues, but what if we are not able to get an education in the first place? What is one supposed to do in such a circumstance.”

In the heart of Hyderabad, Telangana lives a family solely relying on the earnings of one person, Shaikh Sameer, a daily wage earner. However, this one person’s income is falling short when it comes to providing an education.

Sameer and his wife, Asiya‘s two children, Ayaan (studying in std VIII) and Afsha (studying in std IV) are studying at Pragati High School and Jamiatul Muflihat High School respectively. Their combined fees are coming at Rs 62,500/- (Rupees Sixty-Two Thousand and Five Hundred).
