“Whatever happiness and joy we had seems like an eternity ago. It all perished when my husband passed away. Ever since then, it has been continued labour just to ensure that my children get to study like everyone else. However, that still is falling short.”

In a small household in Hyderabad, Telangana lives Saraswati with her two young children. Saraswati’s husband passed away years ago due to coronavirus and ever since then Saraswati has been working hard; stitching clothes to manage the expenses of the household.

However, her income is barely enough to cover the basic necessities. She is finding it difficult to pay the fees for her children. Her children, Aadya and Aadhvika Reddy, studying in nursery and third standard at Shri Kumari School are bright young children. Aadya’s annual fee is coming at Rs.22,800/-, while Aadhvika’s rounds up to Rs.25,300/-. The combined fees is coming at Rs.48,100/- (Rupees Forty-Eight Thousand One Hundred).
