A Little Boy Who Deserves a Fighting Chance

Eight-month-old Battini Dhanunjay, son of Sravani and Paparao from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, is fighting for his life at an age when most babies are just beginning to discover the world around them. What started as jaundice led to the diagnosis of PFIC Type II, a rare liver condition where the body is unable to process bile normally, causing it to build up and slowly damage the liver. His only hope for survival now is a Liver Transplant.

For Sravani, every day is a mix of fear and quiet determination. She watches over her son, holding on to every small sign of hope, while Paparao carries the weight of the family's future on his shoulders. As a daily wage earner, there is no fixed income, no savings, and no one in the family to turn to for support. It is just the three of them, facing something no family should have to face alone.

Doctors at Rainbow Children's Hospital, Hyderabad (approximately 5 km from Necklace Road Railway Station), have advised a Liver Transplant as the only course of treatment that can save Dhanunjay's life. The estimated cost of the procedure is Rs. 18,00,000 (Rupees Eighteen Lakh Only).

For a family that lives on daily earnings, this amount is simply beyond reach. There are no assets to fall back on, no financial cushion, and no support system to lean on. Sravani, who is herself the donor for the transplant, is prepared to give a part of herself so her son can live. With time running out, the family is hoping that kind hearts will step forward and help little Dhanunjay get the chance to live and grow.
