Meet Prathana Dayal, a Std 6th student at Guru Nanak Higher Secondary School, Sion, Mumbai.

Prathana was only seven months old when she lost her mother, and her father has been absent from her life ever since. Since then, she and her brother have been raised by their maternal aunt, who took them in as her own without a second thought and has held their small family together ever since, even though it hasn't always been easy for her.

Prathana keeps showing up to school with the same quiet determination she's always had, and her aunt is doing everything she can to make sure that doesn't change. Whatever life has already taken from Prathana, her aunt doesn't want her education to be one more thing on that list.

For the 2026-27 academic year, Prathana's school fees amount to Rs. 10,988/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty Eight Only), an amount her aunt is struggling to arrange while providing for the family on her own.
