“Our happiness knew no bounds when we found out that we were going to be blessed with not one, but two children. But it all came crashing down when the doctors had to deliver the baby before the due date. Now instead of celebrations, we are praying for a miracle.”

On 2nd May, 2024, Shalini gave birth to twin babies during the seventh month of pregnancy as her blood pressure rose alarmingly. They hoped for a celebration at their house in Thane, Maharashtra, but now only gloom and despair can be found as they await their babies’ treatment.

According to the doctors at Maharashtra’s Nimai’s Borneo Hospital (2.5 km from Thane Railway Station), the babies would need NICU care which would cost Rs. 10, 00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakh Only).

Sunil works as a supervisor and earns a meagre income. He is the sole breadwinner in his family of four. He has borrowed from his friend for the treatment.
