“We were happy to be blessed with a baby boy. We gladly named him Tanuj. Never in my
wildest dream must I have thought that he would suffer from any heart disease. We didn’t know
that Tanuj’s painful coughing fits were due to some heart defect. The doctors have proposed
some surgery that I can’t even spell out.”-
Shree Amol Atmaram Shelar was ecstatic when he learnt that little Tanuj, his son, was born on
16th May 2022 in Pune, Maharashtra. He didn’t know that his son would have a congenital heart
defect namely a Large malaligned subaortic ventricular septal defect with predominantly left to
the right interventricular gradient of 10mm. Initially, it went undiagnosed but later on, in the third
month after his birth, it was seen in a chest X-ray. Little Tanuj would suffer from severe
pneumonia and would go into coughing fits. He still suffers from the same painful symptoms to
this day. Currently, he is undergoing medication and has been admitted to AiMS Pune, Maharashtra. Doctors there have proposed repair of subaortic ventricular septal total correction
heart surgery with aggressive medical management for him, which will cost around Rs
5,20,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs Twenty Thousand Only).
Anmol Shelar is a poor driver and is the only breadwinner in the family of five. He is in no shape
to afford such a huge expenditure. You are the only hope the family has. Please donate
