After witnessing our daughter's painful struggle for years, this is the only way to end her suffering. Your generosity is the answer to her hardship.
Namaste, I am Babi, Sumitra's mother. Since she turned 4, she has cried mostly, living a difficult life.
Sumitra enjoyed playing with her friends. She dreamt of studying well and ending our poverty. But things started falling apart when the disease started taking over her health and happiness. Sumitra is diagnosed with a rare condition - Meningoencephalocele on her nose.
Meningoencephalocele arises from an abnormal sac of fluid caused due to a defect in the skull.
It all started when she was in the second grade. She complained of nose pain, and it was swelling up too. Worried, we took her to a local doctor. She was given a few medicines, and the doctor said that it will subside.
Since we didn't have enough money to take her to a specialist, we kept trying home remedies for a year, hoping that her nose will heal. But that was the biggest misconception we were living with. We couldn't afford surgery back then and had to delay her treatment.
While my husband has been trying to make arrangements for her the same, our Sumitra has been suffering. Looking at her, it feels as if I have failed as a mother. I wanted to provide a better childhood for my daughter. She has been fighting, and we haven’t been able to relieve her pain yet.
My husband works as a wage labourer. Whatever little he earns is immediately exhausted on our daily expenses. Neck-deep in debt, there is no way that we can afford Rs. 14,83,000 ($ 18039.02) for Sumitra's cure by ourselves.
Parent's Plea
You are their only hope.
Even though they could not give their child all the luxuries, they are trying their best. Seeing her in such a condition is painful for her family, and poverty doesn’t let them rescue their daughter from her endless suffering.
All they need from you is a little help.
With your donations, these parents will be able to see their daughter live and grow into the person she hopes to be. Please offer Sumitra a helping hand.
