In the village of Kohir, Andhra Pradesh, Mohmad Khaleel toils day and night to feed his family of six. However, his mind always drifts to his daughter, Shifa, who is suffering from congenital heart disease. Somedays, she even had to skip school because of her unrelenting weakness. Doctors at Kamneni Hospital, Hyderabad have said that Shifa needs to undergo VSD Surgical closure, and this procedure would cost Rs 4,75,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Seventy-Five Thousand Only). The mere mention of the amount sent a chill down his spine.

Mohmad Khaleel works as a contracted labourer and is the sole breadwinner of the family. His meagre income is barely enough to feed his family of six. His dreams have been haunted by the cries of his daughter, and countless nights of sleep have been lost wondering about what the future holds for his daughter.
