“We were ecstatic to welcome our baby into this world. Despite the financial constraints, we ensured that our baby had everything he needed. The day my son was born, was a bittersweet moment for me. As soon as I heard his first cry, tears of happiness rolled down my eyes. But the doctor was waiting to give me the sad news; they said my child was born without thumbs. The doctor said he would need surgeries for his hands. It relieved me a bit, but the cost of each surgery shook me to the core. I don’t want my baby to have any disabilities. I need to help him, but the money required is too much for me, I need your support, please help!”-

Sarthak Waghchaure, from Nashik, Maharashtra, was born with a disability called Absent Thumb. Both of his hands do not have thumbs in their place. The doctors, at the time of Sarthak’s birth, informed his parents that he would need surgeries otherwise he will live with a disability. Sarthak’s parents were ready to do anything for their son, but money was a big factor preventing them from doing so.

They sold their belongings and took a personal loan to pay for Sarthak’s first surgery which he underwent when he was one year old. Till then, he lived with no thumbs at all. He is one and a half years old now and is supposed to undergo a second surgery at Ashoka Medicover Hospitals, Maharashtra. The estimated cost of the surgery is Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Only). With a huge debt to repay and low paying job, Sarthak’s parents cannot afford to pay such a huge amount.

Rohit, who is the sole breadwinner of the family, earns Rs. 9,000/- a month. Out of which Rs. 1,500/- goes for their monthly house rent. It is nearly impossible to arrange the sum of money that is in lakhs. Please help Sarthak to live the healthy and struggle-free childhood that he deserves.
