“We lost our first child due to a heart defect. One year later, we were blessed with Ritika. She
was absolutely fine at birth, but as the days passed, we noticed that she would frequently fall
sick. Worried, we took her to a hospital, where the doctor told us that she has a rare disease
known as Dorsal Kyphosis. Our worlds came crashing down with the news, and we felt
helpless.”-
Ritika Panwar is six year old daughter of Mr Gajendra Panwar and Mrs. Kiran Panwar from
Karnataka. Mr Gajendra Panwar is the only breadwinner of the family. He experienced
commercial losses due to covid and is currently selling clothes for income. They were overjoyed
when Ritika was born, but it lasted only for a few weeks. Ritika was diagnosed with Dorsal
Kyphosis with Hemivertebra. It is a vertebral deformity where the body fails to form a normal body structure. Ritika's family did not understand this illness. The doctor also informed them that
they can only treat her when she turns six years old as she was too young for surgery then.
Currently, Ritika is at Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Karnataka.
She needs to undergo surgery for Posterior Instrumentation Deformity, correction hemivertebra
excision and fusion in simple terms correction of her spinal cord. The estimated cost for the
surgery is about 4,50,000/- (Four Lakh Fifty Thousand Rupees). Ritika and her family are going
through tough times, they are waiting for divine intervention. Your generosity can help them
through these times.
“I don't know where to arrange such a huge amount. I have no idea. Being forced to witness my

save her.” -Mr. Gajendra Panwar; (father).
