Help Rishita who is suffering from Opsoclonus Myoclonus Ataxia Syndrome

“Within a month, we had traveled to 4 different hospitals to consult treatment for our daughter. Finally, in Hyderabad, a doctor said, that she can get treated for her Opsoclonus Myoclonus Ataxia Syndrome.
- Meenakshi, Rishita's Mother.

When Rishita turns 9-month-old, unlike other normal babies, she has not started crawling yet. She responds very slowly to voices and conversation as well. During her development staging sudden, shock-like muscle spasms or nervous or shaky movements with irregular rapid eye movement were observed.

Due to a rare syndrome, 1 year 7 months old Rishita cannot live a normal childhood.

When we consult our pediatric, we came to know that Rishita has Opsoclonus Myoclonus Ataxia Syndrome, which is a rare neurological disorder of unknown cause. It appears to be the result of an autoimmune process, involving the nervous system. It is a rare condition, affecting 1 in 10,000,000 people per year. In this syndrome, the organs like face, eyelids, limbs, fingers, head, and trunk may be involved. When the illness is at its worst, sitting or standing is difficult or impossible.

“In addition to the tests and medical expenses, Rishita also required injection and special medications which costs Rs.60,000/- each month. And to bear these charges are totally beyond our control for the expenses.”
K. Ramu, Rishita's Father.

Rishita parents cannot afford the cost for their daughter's treatment.
While Meenakshi is taking care of her daughter in the hospital, Mallesh who is a security guard by profession is running around the city seeking for help. To accumulate,Rs. 5, 00, 000/- (Five Lakhs Only) for his daughter treatment from his meager income is a task for him. If in the given time frame amount is not collected, they fear that they'll lose their daughter.

How you can help?

Rishita needs Dexa, IVIG, Rituximab Injections to fight back her syndrome. But her family is not in a position to afford it.
