“We were so happy with the birth of our first child. Wishes came pouring from every corner of our family and everyone extended their blessings. But within a month, the joy that came with the arrival of the child perished in an instant. Misery and gloom clouded over our house, but the biggest fear was not knowing what would happen next to our child.”

It was a moment of joy when Vineet and Neha brought their newborn baby, Pawani, to their house in Ashok Nagar, Madhya Pradesh. But when the parents noticed little to no growth in the baby even after a month, they suspected something was wrong.

It was confirmed that little Pawani is suffering from Biliary Atresia with Failed Kasai Protoenterostomy (End-Stage Liver Disease). She constantly sweats and her growth is little to none. According to the doctors at Maharashtra’s Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital (4.9 km from Bandra Railway Station), Pawani can only be saved through a liver transplantation.

Pawani’s mother, Neha, has agreed to be a donor, only the funds are remaining. But the cost of the treatment is coming at Rs.16, 50,000/- (Rupees Sixteen Lakh Fifty Thousand Only).

Vineet lives with a joint family. The family depends on the income earned from a betel leaf shop. But the shop doesn’t generate enough revenue to pay the medical bills. Vineet has taken some help from his friends, but it hasn’t been enough.
