“Ever since my Parasram was six months old, his woes have become a constant companion. Blood transfusions have become his oxygen. I have exhausted my savings for his treatment and have little left to give.”-

Parasram, an eleven-year-old boy living in Sangli, has to go for blood transfusions every 12-15 days. Being diagnosed with Thalassemia, these transfusions have become his lifeline. But at the end of the day, these transfusions are only borrowing time for him.

According to the doctors at Maharashtra’s Jupiter Hospital (5.7 km from Savitribai Phule University in Pune), Parasram needs to undergo a bone marrow transplant. The cost of the life-saving procedure is coming at Rs 15,20,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Lakhs Twenty Thousand Only).

Macchindra is a daily wage labourer, who is the sole breadwinner in his family of five. He has exhausted all his savings for his son, but it hasn’t been enough.
