Help a Premature Baby to Survive!

“I do not have a fixed job; I have to search for work and earn money at the end of the day anyhow or we won’t have anything to eat that day. Despite the challenges, we took utmost care of the baby in the womb, but fate has always been against us. I can’t see my little girl laying almost lifeless on that bed every day. The thought of losing her sends shivers down my spine. I will never be able to arrange the money required by myself. Please, please help me save my daughter.”-

Mr. Shankar Reddy ; (Father)

For parents to see their newborn fight for every breath is the most devastating thing to experience. Shankar Reddy who hails from a small village called Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh where there are no adequate water and electricity facilities, is facing a similar dreadful situation.

Shankar Reddy and his wife, Mrs. Padmaja who was seven months pregnant in December 2022, went for a regular check-up when they got the most shocking news of their lives. The doctors informed them that there was a huge complication that occurred with the baby’s blood circulation and urgent surgery was needed, and a delay will be fatal for both the baby and the mother.

The young couple did not even have the time to process anything when their premature baby girl was born. There was no time to rejoice for the father as his wife and his newborn baby were on hospital beds. While the mother recovered and was sent home, the baby is still fighting to survive. This two-month-old premature baby girl is suffering from a series of prematurity complications that has hooked the baby to the NICU bed at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Hyderabad.

The doctors have advised RDS/ HMD hypotension, probable sepsis, thrombocytopenia apnea of prematurity anaemia and unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia. The treatment needed is estimated to Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only). To collect this huge sum of money is next to impossible for the young couple given that they are already in debt. Please them during their tough times.
