“It’s so heartbreaking to see our son, who was once so full of life and dreams, reduced to fits of tears and pain. He has turned into someone I scarcely recognise. Oh, how I long to see his old self back. I am willing to give anything for it.”

Living in Buldana, Maharashtra is a family comprising four people. What at first glance seems like an ordinary family, the pain and fear in their hearts become clear at a closer glimpse.

Om Bhimrao Lad is a young boy of fifteen years, who has dreams of helping his family get out of poverty, has been diagnosed with Thalassemia Major His life is heavily dependent on blood transfusions.

According to the doctors at Maharashtra’s MRR Children’s Hospital (5.5 km from Thane Railway Station), Om needs a bone marrow transplant which costs Rs.22,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty-Two Lakh Only).

For an average working-class family, this amount is impossible. Bhimrao is the sole breadwinner in the family and he earns his living by doing hours of hard labour. He has been forced to sell his house and take heavy loans for his son’s treatment.

The condition of the family is hard yet they are not ready to give up on their son. Please donate as much as you can for Om and share his story with all your friends and family members.
