“We came to know about the defect in his heart and kidney within weeks after he was born. But we did not have money to treat him. We decided to wait till we accumulate money for our child’s medical expenses. But suddenly, he started facing extreme difficulties in breathing and we had to rush to the hospital.”-

5-months-old Mohammad Hussain is the twin child of Israr Husian Idrisi and Khatoon Israr Husain Idrisi of Koliwada, Thane, Maharashtra. He is suffering from Bronchitis with respiratory distress, case of TOF (Tetralogy of Fallot) with Pulmonary Atresia. In simple terms, there is a blockage in the heart and the pulmonary veins that is responsible for pumping oxygenated blood. Aside from his severe suffering, this has also made him prone to infection and other illnesses. He is underweight for his age, because of being persistently weak since birth.

Mohammad Hussain’s father does stitching work and earns Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two hundred only) per day to run his family. They live in a small rented room and have been trying to save money for their child. The doctors at Queens Care Hospital, Thane, Maharashtra have suggested surgery for Tetralogy of Fallot. The estimated cost of the treatment along with NICU hospitalization is Rs. 4,50,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Fifty thousand only). However, the parents are unable to meet the required amount. They need support to fund their little son’s treatment.
