“My daughter was completely healthy and going to school until she fell sick. We became very worried
when her conditions did not improve even after a few weeks. Her skin had discolored and her heart was
beating very fast. We fearfully took her to the doctor and found out that she is suffering from a heart
defect. This situation has numbed us.”-
Maryam is a 6-year-old girl of Mr. Salim Pirjade and Mrs. Tabasum Prijade from Pune, Maharashtra. The
father works as a painter on a daily wage basis and the mother is a housewife who takes care of their
two children. They were managing their family life well until the day when Maryam was diagnosed with
a heart defect. She would not eat anything and had become very weak. Upon noticing her fast heart beats and discoloration of the skin, the parents took her to a doctor who suggested that she should
undergo an X-Ray for further intervention. The doctors found out that she has a hole in her heart and
only surgery can cure it.
Maryam’s parents now took her to AIMS Hospital in Pune, Maharashtra. Her medical diagnosis states
that she is suffering from Congenital Acynotic Heart Disease 4mm PDA with Continuous LR Shunt. The
condition creates complications as it allows the poorly oxygenated blood to flow in the wrong direction,
weakening the heart muscle and causing heart failure. For her treatment, the doctors have suggested
Urgent Aggressive Medical Management, Following PDA Closure Device Heart Procedure. The estimated
cost of which is Rs. 2,55,000/- (Two Lakhs and Fifty-Five Thousand Rupees only). The parents need your
support in funding their child’s treatment and saving her life. Help them!

Maryam doesn't even eat anything. The doctors said that she will eat after her operation. Please help my
