“My son’s birth was a bittersweet moment for me. While I was relishing in joy about the birth of my son; at the same time, the doctor was waiting with a piece of distressing news for me. My son was diagnosed with severe heart disease, and for more than six years, a single day’s comfort has become a distant dream for him”-

Karthikeyan, a six-year-old child hailing from Tamil Nadu has been diagnosed with DILV, Valvular PS, transposed great arteries Unrestrictive BVF, a complex heart disease. Currently, he is getting treated at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and is on ventilator support. Even though he has undergone one operation, his woes are far from over, and he might require another one.

The cost is enormous for Karthikeyan’s father, Ravichandran, who works as a welder and at best earns a meagre income, that too depends on whether he gets work or not. Doctors have suggested that he needs to undergo Cardiac Catheterization followed by Fontan, which would cost the sole breadwinner about Rs 3,50,000/- (Rupees Three Lakh Fifty Thousand).

The toys of a six-year-old gather dust, as he awaits to undergo a much-needed operation. But with the cost so high, would the child perish with his disease? Please donate to his aid and make sure that he gets to live a long and fulfilling life.
