After enduring the heartache of losing four children, M. Maheshwari's joy at finally welcoming a baby boy on April 26, 2023, turned to despair when it was discovered that Gokulapriyan was suffering from MALT-1 deficiency, an Immunodeficiency-Genetic disorder.

According to the doctors at Tamil Nadu’s G Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital, (3 km from Coimbatore Railway Station) Gokulapriyan urgently needs an Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant, commonly known as a bone marrow transplant, with a haploidentical donor. The cost of this life-saving procedure is estimated at Rs.14,00,000/- (Rupees Fourteen lakh only).

Gokulapriyan's father, S. Muruganantham, works tirelessly as a coolie, earning barely enough to support his family of four. He has already sold their family land and is now considering renting out their home. Despite his efforts, he has been unable to gather the funds necessary for Gokulapriyan's medical treatment.
