“Our happiness knew no bounds when we learned that we were expecting. Soon we started
preparing for welcoming our baby to this world. We promised ourselves that we will provide our
baby with everything needed so that our angel grows into a healthy and happy child. Moments
after our baby was born, the doctors informed us about our son’s heart defect, crashing all of
our happiness into pieces. The doctors told us that our son would need heart surgery in two
years as the defect would keep causing damage to his body. It’s time for the surgery, but we are
failing at keeping our promise; we are not able to arrange the amount of money required for the
surgery. Please help us!”-
Mr. Susanta Naik and Mrs. Rina Naik hailing from Odisha are going through the most difficult
time of their lives yet; their two-year-old son, Dibanshu was born with Congenital Heart Defect
with Pulmonary Stenosis. It is a heart disorder. Dibanshu’s immune is weak causing him
distress and severe cough and fevers, frequently. His medicines are too heavy for a child of his age. Dibyanshu is currently taking treatment at Care Hospital, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The
doctors have proposed Tetralogy of Fallot repair with Tap (A complex open-heart surgery) for
Dibyanshu. The estimated cost of the treatment is Rs 4,50,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Fifty
Thousand Only).
“I am a daily wage labourer and earn a minimum income that barely is sufficient for my family of
five. I have to pay the house rent of Rs 2,200 every month. Given the situation, it is impossible
for us to collect the amount needed for my son’s treatment. But it is going to save his life and we
want to see him cured, happy, and healthy. Please help us save Dibyanshu.”
