“My daughter is very dear to my heart. All her childhood we had to refuse her to do simple things like playing or running because her heart is weak. We do not want to restrict her from all the happiness she deserves. Please understand our dire need for money and help us save our daughter.” -

Deepika is a six-year-old daughter to Mr. Satvir and Mrs. Rita, from Uttar Pradesh. This sweet girl is suffering from a complex heart condition. When Deepika was born, her parents' happiness knew no boundaries. But little did they know that their bundle of happiness could be suffering from such a complex heart defect.

When Deepika was two to three days old, doctors sensed something suspicious seeing her body movements. A few tests were conducted which discovered that she was suffering from Complex Patent ductus arteriosus (Large tubular PDA). It is a heart condition that causes problems with blood flow between the heart and lungs.

Deepika's stay in the hospital continued for a few days till her health was stable enough to be on her own. The doctors at that time informed Deepika's parents that she would need to undergo heart surgery in the future as her little body would not have been able to bear a major surgery.

Deepika's parents decided that they would fight every battle for their loving daughter no matter what. They took additional care of her along with their three other children. Deepika used to suffer from intense fevers often. She always has been underweight and wheezing sounds would be heard from her chest.

Deepika is six-years-old now and her condition has worsened. She suffers while breathing and her body is growing weak, day by day. Her parents took her to Paras Hospital, Patna. The doctors have suggested a PDA surgical ligation (Heart Surgery). The estimated cost of the surgery is Rs. 3,60,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs Sixty Thousand Only).

Deepika's father is a daily wage labourer and earns up to Rs. 250/- per day. Her mother does minor garment stitching work which gets minimal earnings. This couple has to manage all the monthly expenses of a family that consists of eight members. Arranging the estimated lakhs of money for their daughter's treatment is beyond their capabilities, especially when they have a scanty income.
