When Sunita Devi went into labour three months before her due date, she knew her worst nightmare has come to fruition. On 12th March 2023, she gave birth to an extremely weak girl. Sunita and her husband, Ajay didn’t get a moment to hold their child in their arms. It was snatched away from them as quickly as she was born, and placed in the NICU.

Suddenly, all their dreams come crashing down, and their house has turned into a place of abject sorrow. Doctors at Silver Crest Hospital in Haryana have said that the baby requires NICU Stay and ventilator support. Doctors have said that the cost of the treatment is coming up to Rs. 4,00,000/- (Rupees Four Lakh only).

The mere mention of the amount came as a cruel blow to Ajay. Ajay works at a shop and earns only about Rs 10,000 per month. Out of his meagre income, Rs. 4,000 goes to paying for the house rent. Adding to Ajay’s misery, he is the sole breadwinner in his family of four.
