“We were on cloud nine to welcome another child. Being a mother was the best thing that ever happened to me, and I couldn’t wait to relive the same thing again. But unlike my previous pregnancies, this one wasn’t as beautiful. My daughter had to be born prematurely, and right now, she is away from my arms and placed in the NICU”-

During the seventh month of Sneha’s pregnancy, her blood pressure rose at an alarming rate. This forced the doctors to deliver the baby prematurely. As usual, the baby was born severely weak.

Currently, the baby resides in the NICU of Ernakulam Medical Centre in Kerala, 13.5 km away from Cochin, Kerala. The baby is underweight, as she only weighs 444 grams, and she has to rely on a ventilator. The total cost of the treatment is coming at Rs.19,00,000/- (Rupees Ninteen Lakh Only).

Sneha’s husband, Mineesh works as a daily wage labourer and is the sole breadwinner in his family of five. He cannot afford to pay the expensive medical bills. They have borrowed heavily from loved ones and have even put their house on lease.
