“I have three elder daughters. They all keep asking when will their newborn brother come home.
I don’t know what to tell them. Why is God so merciless? I am waiting for my son to get out of
the hospital bed, and I can take him home. I want to hold him and sing to him. Please, please
help us save our child.”
Mrs Kadrunissa, who hails from Maharashtra, recently gave birth to a baby boy. After the
delivery, the doctors observed that there were some issues in the child’s breathing, and they
kept him under observation. It was after running a few tests that the doctors found out that the
child was suffering from Viral Bronchitis. He is just fifteen days old, hooked to a hospital bed,
struggling to survive. He is currently admitted to Queens Hospital, Mumbai. The doctors have
proposed NICU and oxygen support as a part of the treatment. The estimated cost of the
treatment is Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh Only). Kadrunnisa’s husband is a daily wage labourer who only brings Rs. 150/- a day. With this scanty income, they are
struggling to manage their medical expenses. Please help them in these times of distress.
“My youngest son is just a few days old and look what he is going through. That little life is
hooked to a hospital bed. As soon as my son was born, he was kept under observation as
doctors suspected something was wrong. Later, they informed us that he was born with severe
lung disease. I was so ecstatic to take our son home, but my fate was such that I could not hold
him in my arms. I cannot see him through that glass anymore. I want to hold him in my arms
and listen to his baby voice,” said Mrs Kadrunnisa, while holding back her tears.
