“The sacrifices a parent has to make for their children were revealed to
me when my daughter started falling ill. I couldn’t find the time to take
care of my daughter, as my superiors were hesitant to grant leave. So, I
had to quit my job, but now I am stuck with no income. How would I be
able to save my darling daughter in such a precarious situation.”-
When Bindyaakshara underwent a bone marrow transplant, her parents
thought that all would be well. However, Bindyaakshara starters
suffering from post-transplant complications.
What started as a fever, turned into an unimaginable nightmare. She
has been diagnosed with ‘Fanconi Anemia’, and her days have been
plagued with misery and dread. She has a urinal infection, loose
motions, and has been confined to the hospital, longing to return home.
According to the doctors at Hyderabad’s Rainbow Children`s Hospital in
Telangana, Bindyaakshara’s treatment would cost Rs.10,00,000/-
(Rupees Ten Lakh Only). This came as a cruel blow to her parents.
Balaraja has been jobless for over a year, as he had to quit his job to
take care of his daughters. He has been managing the expenses due to
the kindness of his family members. But the treatment expense is still
beyond his means.
