Parents Plead for Help: 9-Month-Old Needs Urgent Liver Transplant to Survive

Indrakumar and Sweeti hail from a small city in Bihar. They always dreamed of a simple life with their nine-month-old son, Arpan. Their lives were filled with the joy of watching their baby grow. But everything changed when their son began suffering from a fever and persistent itching in his stomach. Concerned, they took him to the doctor, who recommended an ultrasound. The results were devastating—a tumour was discovered, and further tests revealed that their baby’s liver was severely damaged.

Their precious child was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma with Tyrosinemia Type 1, a rare Liver Cancer. The doctors at Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai, Maharashtra (950m from Vile Parle Railway Station)have recommended an immediate Liver Transplant. The cost of the treatment is overwhelming —Rs. 16,50,000/- (Rupees Sixteen Lakh Fifty Thousand Only). As students with no steady income, the parents have done everything they can, borrowing money from loved ones and scraping together whatever they could. But it’s not enough.
