“Our little Abhishek came as a blessing in our lives; we were over the moon. Our family of four
was complete; it was all my wife, and I had dreamt of. But our worlds turned upside down when
our boy started falling sick and when we took him to the doctor at the Taluka, we found out that
he had a rare condition, and we were so worried we didn't know what to do. My son is in a lot of
pain, and I can’t do anything to help him! All I ever wanted was a happy life for him; Is that too
much to wish for?”
Abhishek Khate is a little 2-year-old boy of Mr. Kailash Khate and Mrs. Sunita Khate. He lived in
Parbhani, Maharashtra, with his family, which includes an elder sister named Akshara, who is 6
years old. The family lived a very simple life, but troubles have not left their path since they
learned about Abhishek’s rare congenital condition. Abhishek had a lot of pain and suffered
from frequent and painful urination. The family took him to a local clinic, which then referred him
to Aims Hospital in Pune.
The Little boy has had surgery before, but unfortunately, it was unsuccessful, and his condition
remains the same. Abhishek suffers from Hypospadias, a congenital disease in males in which
the opening of the urethra is on the underside of the penis. The doctors have proposed an
urgent Re-do of single-stage Hypospadias repair under general Anesthesia surgery.
The estimated cost of the treatment is Rs.2,60,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh Sixty Thousand Only). The
family needs help to get the second surgery done urgently. Mr. Kailash earns a bare minimum
income and does not have the means to pay for the treatment. The family is asking for your help to
support them through this tough time.
“I work as a daily wage farm laborer, the maximum I earn is Rs.200 per day, but that is on days we
get work. I live in a rented house, and it is tough to manage a livelihood. I don’t want my son to suffer
anymore, but I don’t know how to help him. Our child shouldn't suffer because we have no money. I
just want him to live a happy and normal life. Please, help us!” - Mr. Kailash Khate, Father
