'The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.' - Jawaharlal Nehru
14th November is annually celebrated as Children’s Day in India. This day is observed to honour the first prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, who was extremely fond of children.
On this day, schools and other institutions normally organize fairs and celebrations to honour the children of our nation. Games, Movie Screenings, and Stage Performances are held all over the country. Child Help Foundation itself has organized celebrations in orphanages and Asharamshala. Being a child-centric organization, Child Help Foundation helps children throughout the course of the year with their medical treatment, education and health.
To observe Children’s Day, Child Help Foundation would like to present five ways to celebrate this occasion
- Organize a Celebration in a Public School or Orphanage
- Fund the Education or Medical Treatment of Underprivileged Child
- Adopt a Child
- Spread Awareness of Bullying, Peer Pressure or Other Adolescent Issues
- Organize a Celebration
In a society divided by class, the Children’s Day celebration has unfortunately been a privilege of the upper to middle class. Children from low-income backgrounds are sadly neglected, with the importance of this day being unknown to them. You can bring this joy to their doorstep by organizing celebrations in your local orphanages and government schools.
You can light up the world of a child by securing their future by sponsoring the education or medical treatment of a child, which will help them to prosper in the future. Any child, whether it be a child of your domestic maid or a relative could be helpful. You can even donate to a fundraiser on our website.
While orphanages try their best to provide a fulfilling life to children, sometimes they can’t meet all their needs as they have too many mouths to feed. You can change the life of a child by officially adopting them. Having both sets of parents and providing a child with love and affection will help the child to reach further heights they couldn’t achieve during their stay at an orphanage.
Adolescents are stuck in a unique position, where they are expected to behave like adults, yet also not deemed capable enough to be valued. Adults and older generations normally trivialize their issues. Bullying and peer pressure play a significant role in harming the potential of a child. Children can develop self-esteem issues, start taking drugs or even commit suicide because of bullying and peer pressure. You can start spreading awareness and ask people to take the issues of adolescents seriously.
You can also organize a celebration in your local society. Celebrate the achievements of children and encourage others to grow and prosper. You can schedule a screening, a dinner or games for them.
Child Help Foundation is committed to helping children. Child Help Foundation has helped 44,81,098 people, including children. Child Help Foundation’s Emergency Medical Support, Education, and Zero Hunger has helped 3,023 children, 4,86,141 students and 22,91,857 children respectively.
