Fourteen years ago, Child Help Foundation (CHF) began its journey with a mission to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged individuals across India. Driven by compassion and a commitment to creating lasting change, CHF has dedicated itself to a variety of causes—thanks to the support of volunteers, donors, and well-wishers. Today, CHF stands proud, having positively impacted millions. Join us as we reflect on CHF’s incredible journey across fourteen years of transformative work.
Through CHF’s efforts, 3,949 children suffering from terminal illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, and thalassemia have received life-saving interventions. CHF’s healthcare outreach has also created safer spaces for 1,63,462 mothers to breastfeed their children and shifted 2,76,420 perspectives on health through various awareness programs.
CHF’s Arogya Sadan provides accommodation, meals, and support for underprivileged patients with diseases like thalassemia who are travelling to Mumbai for treatment. Additionally, in collaboration with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Mira Bhaindar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, CHF distributes monthly ration kits to tuberculosis patients, helping them strengthen their immune systems.
Education is key to transforming futures, and CHF has provided 5,34,434 students with access to quality education. From distributing educational materials and establishing Mini Science Centres to creating computer labs, CHF’s efforts have empowered children across India. By bringing engaging educational resources to underserved areas, CHF nurtures a brighter future for young learners.
With a vision for clean water and sanitation, CHF has made remarkable strides. To date, 100 toilets have been constructed, benefitting over 13,660 people, and 59 water purifiers have been installed, providing clean water to 21,804 people. CHF’s menstrual hygiene initiatives have reached 14,128 people and distributed 4,26,008 sanitary pads for free, promoting menstrual health and breaking taboos around menstruation.
Gender equality is an important initiative for CHF, with 1,29,967 people sensitized on the topic through sessions on POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences). CHF organizes self-defense classes and Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) sessions, educating 8,066 individuals on gender equality and personal safety, fostering safer communities for all.
CHF’s initiatives have provided nutritious meals to 25,93,347 people. Partnering with ISKCON, the ‘Aatmanirbhar Palghar’ project serves nutritious food to end malnutrition in the Palghar district. CHF also feeds thousands of pilgrims in Puri, Odisha, during the annual Rath Yatra, nourishing more than 15,000 pilgrims as they embark on their spiritual journey.
CHF is committed to supporting communities affected by natural disasters and crises, reaching 11,34,590 individuals across Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Manipur, Assam, Odisha, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir and Telangana through various humanitarian relief efforts. CHF’s emergency assistance programs have been a source of hope and aid in the face of adversity.
Environmental stewardship is a core value at CHF. Collaborating with NGOs and volunteers, CHF has helped protect 2,09,46,120 marine lives by removing tons of waste from beaches in Maharashtra, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha. These cleanup efforts play a vital role in safeguarding marine ecosystems and promoting environmental sustainability.
CHF volunteers actively participate in tree planting and animal welfare activities. Through these efforts, CHF has supported the growth and care of 63,596 trees and animals, , contributing to greener and more sustainable habitats.
Through village development projects in Gulabigaon, Nashik, Maharashtra, CHF has empowered 2,187 individuals by imparting essential skills and creating job opportunities, fostering economic independence and stability within rural communities. CHF’s ‘Child for Child’ program also promotes awareness among children nationwide, building a generation that values inclusivity and equality.
In its fourteen-year journey, CHF has reached and improved the lives of more than 50 lakh people across India. Every project, every initiative, and every program brings CHF closer to realizing its mission of a world where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity, health, and happiness.
