A Tiny Life Fighting for a Chance to Grow

Just eight days after entering the world, a newborn baby boy, the son of Priya Kumari and Raj Kumar Das from Madhubani, Bihar, is fighting a battle far greater than any child should ever face. Born prematurely, he developed severe complications associated with premature birth and was also diagnosed with early Retinopathy of Prematurity, a condition that can threaten his vision if not treated in time.

What should have been a joyful moment for the family has instead become a period of immense grief and worry. Priya gave birth to twins, but heartbreakingly, one of the babies did not survive. Now, all the family's hopes rest on their surviving son, who remains under intensive medical care.

Doctors at Silver Crest Hospital, Gurugram, Haryana (2.9km from Gurugram Railway Station), have advised one month of specialised NICU care to give the baby the best chance of recovery and healthy development. The cost of treatment is Rs. 3,50,000 (Rupees Three Lakh Fifty Thousand Only), a sum that the family is struggling to arrange.

The family of three is already burdened by debt. Raj's food stall, which supported the household, was recently demolished, leaving the family without a stable source of income. Priya has also faced repeated health complications, further increasing their financial struggles.
