A Tiny Fighter’s First Battle: Hope for Baby Vandana’s Son

“We had so many dreams for our baby when she was born. Seeing her surrounded by medical equipment instead of resting safely at home is heartbreaking. She is so small and fragile, yet she continues to fight every day. We pray that she receives the care she needs to grow stronger and come home with us.”

The birth of a child is usually a moment of joy and celebration. For Surendra Kumar and Mamta, however, it became a time of fear and uncertainty. Their baby girl, now just six days old, was born prematurely and immediately faced serious health complications that required urgent medical attention.

From the very first moments of her life, she has been under constant medical care. Instead of taking their newborn home, her parents have spent their days anxiously waiting outside hospital rooms, praying for her recovery. Doctors at Hissaria Children’s Hospital, Sirsa, Haryana (350m from Sirsa Railway Station), have advised 40 days of intensive NICU care to help the tiny infant overcome the challenges associated with her premature birth and give her the best possible chance of survival.

Surendra works as a daily wage labourer, earning only enough to meet the family's basic needs, while Mamta is a homemaker caring for their newborn. The family of three now faces a treatment cost of Rs. 3,17,000 (Rupees Three Lakh Seventeen Thousand Only), an amount far beyond their limited means.

Though her journey has only just begun, this little fighter is showing remarkable strength. With timely treatment and compassionate support, she can be given the chance to experience the healthy childhood every child deserves.
