"I get up every day knowing I'm the only one my children can depend on, and I try to make sure they never feel that weight themselves. With what I earn, it's becoming harder each month to keep both of them in school, but giving up on their education isn't something I'm willing to do."
Meet Shaik Ayaan and his younger sister Afsha Begum, two siblings whose education now rests entirely on their mother's shoulders. Ayaan is in Class X at Pragathi High School, Domadugu, Telangana, while Afsha studies in Class VI at Jamiatul-Muflihaat High School, Kothapet, Telangana.
Their mother is the sole earning member of the family, bringing home Rs. 16,000 a month to run the household and raise both her children on her own. Every month, she stretches that income as far as it will go, but with two children's school fees to cover, it rarely feels like enough.
Even so, she has never once let her children feel the strain she carries. For the 2026-27 academic year, Ayaan's fees amount to Rs. 36,800/, and Afsha's amount to Rs. 23,200/-, bringing their combined school fees to Rs. 60,000/- (Rupees Sixty Thousand Only), a figure that is simply out of reach on her income alone.
She has never asked her children to choose between school and survival, even when the odds have made that choice harder than it should be. Your support can help ensure she never has to and give Ayaan and Afsha the one thing their mother has fought so hard to protect: their education.
